Watchet and District Choral Society

Welcome to Watchet and District Choral Society

Due to the new Covid guidelines we have decided that it would be best to cancel this years concert.

We will be singing carols on the steps of the church at 7.30pm on Thursday 16th December and raising money for the Watchet Coastguard.

Come and join us!

We are following Covid 19 guidelines -  sitting apart and wearing face shields but back singing and it feels great!

If you would like to join the choir please contact Mary Rhodes on the telephone or by email and you will receive a warm welcome!

Watchet Choral Society was founded in 1941.

Apart from a few years in the 195o's we have been providing entertainment and raising funds for various local charities ever since.

We are a mixed voice choir with a range of musical abilities and are always ready to welcome new members. At present we need more altos, basses and tenors.

We perform our concerts at Christmas and in Spring and rehearse for about fourteen weeks prior to the performances. We rehearse on Thursdays between 7.30 to 9.00pm in the Methodist Church schoolroom  in Watchet.

We sing a wide variety of pieces - from Irving Berlin to William Crotch! We don't hold auditions - just contact Mary Rhodes on 01984 634000 for more information.

" I don't sing because I'm happy;

I'm happy because I sing!"
